Good to know before you order

  • Taxes are extra. The prices above don't include federal/provincial taxes (~17–18%), which are added on your invoice.
  • USD plans and the exchange rate. Jupiter Pro and Unlimited are billed in US dollars. The PKR amounts shown beneath each USD price are a live estimate — your actual invoice uses the National Bank of Pakistan exchange rate on the day you pay, so the rupee amount can vary month to month.
  • Renting = 1-year contract. Equipment rental needs a 1-year minimum. We hold 1 month's fee as a deposit and adjust it in month 12.
  • Bigger dish = better signal. A 90cm dish is our default for AJK. Step up to 120cm in marginal coverage or heavy-rain areas; step down to 74cm only in strong coverage areas.
  • Super Infinity cap = priority data, not a hard cut. You keep going at reduced speed after the cap — upload is always unlimited.

City Pricing

Costs by city in Pakistan

Pricing varies by city due to labour rates, vendor competition, and local compliance requirements.

Muzaffarabad, AJK

Full YahClick coverage. Mountainous terrain requires professional site survey for line-of-sight. Wicom has been deploying VSAT in AJK since 2012 — we know the optimal installation points.

Islamabad

Full coverage. Urban areas have terrestrial alternatives — VSAT recommended as backup or for sites without fiber access.

Lahore

Full coverage. VSAT primarily used for remote sites outside city limits or as failover for critical business connectivity.

Karachi

Full coverage. Coastal humidity requires corrosion-resistant outdoor equipment. VSAT used for port facilities and remote Sindh sites.

Cost Factors

What affects the price

Understanding these factors helps you budget accurately and avoid surprises.

Plan family

Super Infinity (PKR, rental only) targets high-throughput unlimited use with priority data caps. Jupiter Pro (USD, capped 5–500GB) suits predictable monthly data needs. Jupiter Unlimited (USD, FAP soft-throttle) suits always-on use where occasional speed reduction is acceptable.

Equipment rental vs purchase

Renting lowers upfront cost but locks you into a 1-year minimum contract with 1 month MRC held as a security deposit (adjusted in month 12). Purchasing equipment costs USD 518–1,036 upfront but removes the contract and per-antenna rental premium.

Antenna size (74cm / 90cm / 120cm)

Larger dishes improve signal margin in marginal coverage or heavy-rain areas. Rental monthly cost and purchase price both scale with size — the 120cm dish costs roughly 2x the 74cm to purchase. We recommend 90cm as the default for AJK.

Currency (PKR vs USD)

Super Infinity is billed in PKR (no FX risk). Jupiter Pro and Unlimited are billed in USD and convert to PKR at the National Bank of Pakistan interbank TT selling rate on the date of payment — your PKR invoice fluctuates with the exchange rate.

Priority data & FAP

Super Infinity gives full speed up to the priority cap (125–500GB) then drops to 15–20% of package speed; upload is unlimited. Jupiter Unlimited uses a 3-stage FAP soft throttle (e.g. 20 Mbps → 7 → 3 → 0.5 Mbps) after the GB threshold. Jupiter Pro simply stops (or you buy a volume token top-up).

Taxes

All prices are exclusive of federal/provincial taxes, charged at commercial invoice. Budget approximately 17–18% on top of the listed rates for tax-inclusive costing.

Site terrain (AJK)

Mountainous AJK terrain may require taller mounting poles or non-standard installation to achieve line-of-sight. Adds PKR 5,000–15,000 to installation. A site survey determines the optimal dish placement.

Hybrid WAN design

Combining VSAT with terrestrial or wireless with automatic failover adds PKR 20,000–50,000 in design and equipment but eliminates single-point-of-failure — recommended for mission-critical AJK sites.

Hidden Costs

Costs installers don't mention upfront

We believe in transparent pricing. Here are the costs that often surprise buyers — budget for these.

  • Taxes: all listed prices exclude federal/provincial taxes (~17–18%), charged at commercial invoice
  • USD→PKR conversion: Jupiter plans are billed in USD; the PKR amount depends on the NBP interbank TT selling rate on the date of payment
  • Equipment rental security deposit: 1 month MRC paid in advance, held as deposit and adjusted in month 12 of the 1-year minimum contract
  • Volume token top-ups (Jupiter Pro): once you exhaust your monthly cap, extra data costs USD 9.80–121.28 per token depending on the plan
  • Dish realignment after severe weather: PKR 3,000–8,000 per service call (covered by AMC)
  • Modem firmware updates and configuration changes: PKR 2,000–5,000 per incident without AMC
  • Cabling from antenna to indoor equipment beyond 30m: PKR 200–400/meter
  • Annual maintenance contract for VSAT: PKR 15,000–30,000/year including monitoring, realignment, and break/fix
